Job Summary:

The Custom Companies is a premier full-service transportation provider that specializes in a wide range of transportation solutions to companies of all shapes and sizes. We are growing at a rapid pace and we are looking to add new Account Managers to our Northlake corporate office who will cover accounts at a local and national level. As an Account Manager with The Custom Companies, you are on the front lines, helping our customers move their valuable products from point A to point B. You will be assigned major accounts that you will own. You will be responsible for creating and building relationships with your assigned customers with the expectation of continuing to grow that business. The Account Manager will drive results as the first point of contact for their assigned Territory Manager and their Territory Managers’ customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as an advocate and liaison for The Custom Companies' top clients to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Expand assigned customer accounts through ongoing relationship development
  • Communicate with internal departments to secure the terms of sale, including negotiating rates, identifying carriers and procuring the right equipment for our customers’ needs
  • Work frequently with the Carrier Procurement team to ensure the shipper, consignee, or customer are aware of any challenges or issues that may arise
  • Provide support to your Territory Sales Manager by quoting customers on services.
  • Track and update shipment status to customers to provide superior service

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, logistics, or customer relations
  • Ability to establish, cultivate and maintain working relationships with clients, vendors and team members
  • Ability to problem solve and handle high pressure situations in a timely manner
  • Mange complex transactions promptly and professionally
  • Exude drive, assertiveness, passion and dedication to your assigned customers
  • Excellent and effective communication skills
