Load and unload freight in a safe, efficient manner to avoid shipping errors that result in customer claims or complaints.


  • Load and unload trailers
  • Perform reweighs for each shift
  • Perform daily freight inspections and inspection of lift truck and other equipment
  • Inspects trailers for suitability before loading
  • Perform basic housekeeping 
  • Recoup/palletize/shrink wrap freight as needed
  • Perform other duties as required


  • Knowledge of basic dock procedure
  • Forklift experience in cross-dock operation
  • Ability to identify, report on recurring problems/safety issues


  • 1-2 years forklift experience


  • Remain Injury Free by following Workplace Safety rules
  • Prevent Claims through proper handling, unloading, loading of customers freight
  • Complete assignments promptly to ensure loads wrap and depart on schedule
  • Enhance profitability by properly utilizing trailer space (load high & tight)
  • Reweigh freight to ensure it is classified and rated correctly


If you are new to the dock you will start as an unloader. With experience and training you can move to a loader position. If you are interested you can either continue your career as a spotter and perhaps get a CDL and become one of our P&D drivers; or, if you desire there are avenues toward lead, supervisory and management positions!
