We are growing at a rapid pace and looking to add a Billing & Customer Specialist to our Northlake corporate office. As the Billing & Customer Specialist you will work closely with the rest of the team to make sure that all shipments are routed correctly; that any issues with customer freight are identified and resolved quickly; and, that quotes are provided, with your assistance, to existing and new customers. You are expected to have an understanding of basic dock procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Routing shipments
  • Tracking and tracing
  • Investigating shipping issues
  • Following up with both internal and external customers
  • Identifying and securing high value freight
  • Inspecting inbound and /or outbound shipments
  • Assisting in quotes and calculation of profit margins
  • Communicating pick-ups requested by customers to dispatch
  • Informing customers of freight departures, arrivals, and proof of deliveries
  • Verifying and updating shipment information into the computer system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of air freight movement and basic dock procedure
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and Transoft
  • Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Ability to identify, report, and execute on recurring problems
Credentials and Experience
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years previous work or industry related experience
